Following Warnervale Rugby Union's impressive debut in the Central Coast Rugby competition in 2004, the club has continued its tremendous growth and will launch its inaugural 1st grade and colts teams in the 2006 competition.
This week, Club President, John Mouland, confirmed that the club launched its inaugural 1st grade team and appointed Toni Abbott as Head senior and 1st grade coach.
"Toni Abbott has a long history of success both as a player and a coach, and his success with the clubs 2nd grade team in 2005 will ensure that the club will continue to attract talented players to the club and build on previous successes" Mouland said.
Toni has a coaching philosophy focused on fitness and discipline, which includes bringing many young players with long term potential into the senior grades, so they can fulfil their long term potential.
This potent combination of expertise, experience and passion will ensure that the club expands on its tremendous success that it has already enjoyed and becomes a competitive force in the local senior competition
In addition, the 1st grade team will be complimented by the appointment of ex- ourimbah coach, Dale Winslow as the clubs 2nd grade coach, and ex- The Entrance 1st grade players Danny Ariel and Craig Morgan as the clubs 3rd grade coaches. The clubs Colts team will be coached by Paul Sinclair, who guided his teams to premierships in 2004 and 2005.
Training has commenced at 6.30pm tuesday and thursday evenings at The Dam Hotel fields. Interested players can contact Manager Fred Smedes on 0421 605 072 for registration details.
